The First Fifty Pages of West by Carys Davies

Updated: Oct 1, 2018

Today is the perfect day for reading. It has been very wet the last couple of days and I’ve been looking forward to spending it curled up on the couch with a book. Today I’ve chosen to finally pick up West by Carys Davies, I’ve already finished reading the first fifty pages this morning and I expect I can have this book finished by the end of today. Seriously. This book is short and it reads quickly too.

I wasn’t anticipating this to be such a short read. As a matter of fact I was really hoping for something chunky. I’m not about to complain, short books can make you feel like the book worm you’ve always dreamed you’d be if you had enough time. I’ve also found that short books tend to pack the biggest punch. Not sure how I feel about this one just yet but if the prose is any indication I’d say: so far so good.

I have very little planned for the rest of today. I do have to help my boyfriend with a poster design and later we’ll be going to the River Market to grab coffee where we'll undoubtedly read for an hour or so.
